Speaking part of FCE exam 

Justification

I believe that speaking part of FCE exam is a great example of my speaking skills. The exam was very simmilar to oral exam that we have to take in the end of Practical Language. We had to be in couple as some tasks involve interaction between test-takers. The exam consist of four parts; conversation, describing photos, discussion between candidates about mind map and developing the topics from mind map into a converstaion. The entire process did not take longer than fifteen minutes. Our high school made an exception for holders of the Cambridge certificate; we were exempted from the English graduation exam, which was nice.

Reflection

Firstly we talked about commuting to the exam centre and the weather that day. Then we had to describe what we saw in the pictures and then compare how the pictures differed. Each from pair received a different set of pictures. My set consisted of a photo of a crowded beach and a picture of an abandoned park. Afterwards, we discussed a mind map. The question of this map was: the advantages and disadvantages of different career paths. The discussion was interesting; we agreed on most points, but we had differing opinions on some, which only made the discussion more engaging. Throughout the entire examination, I felt calm because I was paired with my friend, which made the whole process more pleasant. I am very glad that I obtained the certificate, not only because I didn't have to take the English graduation exam, but also because of the job opportunities I have received as a result of holding it (e.g. housekeeper and nanny for english speaking households).
